Each Fall, Winter and Spring I hold
weekly painting classes at my studio in Merrillville Tuesdays 9:00AM –
12:00 Noon, 1:00PM – 4:00PM, 6:00PM – 9:00PM and sometimes a portrait
painting class on Thursday 6:00PM – 9:00PM.
I have been teaching painting since 1972.I believe that accurate drawing and sound composition are necessary ingredients for successful paintings.I teach drawing skills and opaque painting procedures.Oil painters are taught how to create a full range of colors from a double primary palette.Pastelists are shown a practical way to arrange their pastels into a system that allows them to easily access colors and acrylic painters are shown ways to handle acrylic paint without losing their source colors due to drying.
All students are taught to look for warm and cool colors to create the feeling of light, energy and depth.They will also be shown how to use values to create strength and volume.Please do not bring published photos or paintings to copy.Work from life or your own photos.
